Do's en Donts Waxing

Do’s before and after waxing

For optimal results and the most comfortable experience possible, proper preparation and aftercare are important:

- Stop shaving the areas you want to have waxed at least two weeks in advance. Shaving makes the skin more sensitive and thinner, and furthermore, the hairs must be long enough (approximately 5 mm to 1 cm) so that the wax can remove them effectively. If the hairs are too short, they will not be removed and the treatment will be less effective.

- Ensure your skin is well hydrated. Dry skin causes hairs to break off more easily instead of being removed by the root. Regular hydration helps prevent this and ensures a better result.

- Scrub your skin with a mild scrub one day before your appointment. This removes dead skin cells, allowing the wax to get a better grip on the hairs. Be sure to use a gentle scrub to avoid damaging the skin.

- Schedule your appointment at the right time in your cycle. In the week before your period, your skin is more sensitive and waxing can be more painful. The week after your period is usually a better time.

- Take a warm shower or bath just before your appointment. The warmth helps to open the pores, making hair removal easier and less painful.

- Try to relax during the treatment. Tension can increase the perception of pain. Calm, regular breathing helps to reduce pain signals.

- If you have a low pain tolerance, you can take a painkiller about two hours before your appointment. This can help make the treatment more pleasant.

Naturally, our Strippers will guide you through the treatment; if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Don’ts after waxing

After waxing, your skin is more sensitive and the pores need time to close. Therefore, it is important to follow the guidelines below.

- Avoid intense exercise immediately after the treatment. Due to open pores, you are more susceptible to irritation and bacteria.

- Do not take a warm bath or hot shower immediately after waxing. Heat can further irritate the skin. Colder water is better.

- Avoid wearing tight clothing on the treated areas for a while. Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing prevents friction and irritation.

- Do not use perfumed products such as deodorant, soap, or self-tanner on the treated skin for the first 24 hours. These can cause irritation.

- Do not touch ingrown hairs and do not try to squeeze or remove them. This can cause wounds and inflammation.

- Do not scrub the skin for the first 48 hours after the treatment. Once the skin has recovered, regular scrubbing is recommended to prevent ingrown hairs.

- Avoid exposure to sun, tanning beds, saunas, or swimming pools for the first 24 to 48 hours. UV radiation, heat, and chlorine can further irritate the skin.
